Description
Venice.AI is a service that operates open-source image and text generation models in the cloud for end users. They offer a reasonably priced subscription service for state of the art image and text generation models (similar to ChatGPT, Midjourney, Claude). But there is a (legal and supported) way to get a lifetime Pro account without a subscription, for one-time cost (by buying a MOR token, which I’ll simplify for you by just selling you the account where all this is activated).
Note: Venice pro accounts currently don’t work with pure e-mail login, you need a WalletConnect enabled app or extension. When you buy the account, I will send you a seed, which you’ll import into an enabled wallet and use that to log in. As of november 2024, you also need an e-mail based account to login and then login with walletconnect.
This is a howto on how to do it:
Please be patient, as I’ll be sending the accounts manually, it might take a few days.
About lifetime Pro accounts
Venice offers two options for Pro accounts: a subscription for $42 a year or a lifetime Pro account by holding a MOR token in a web3 wallet that you use to login.
However, setting up an Ethereum wallet on Arbitrum network and acquiring the token can be a daunting task for many. To simplify this process, I’m offering this product that includes a forever Pro account, complete with a private key seed phrase holding the MOR token.
This is a promise made by Venice, not me, so if they keep their word (click Support category and “How do I get free Pro account access with Morpheus / MOR?”), you can rest assured that your Pro account will remain active.
With a Pro account, you’ll have the freedom to turn off censorship and generate content that might be considered unsafe for work (what’s that newspeak?).
API access
The Pro account also allows for API access, which is in beta. Learn more how to use it in apps such as Open-WebUI (a frontend) or continue.dev (a plug-in for VS Code).
Big picture
I believe people should be able to play with AI models. While I prefer open models, the cost of hardware required for inference on local machine can be prohibitively expensive. Venice offers a great compromise, providing a reasonably priced inference engine that can be easily integrated into your workflow.
Although it’s still a cloud-based solution, Venice prioritizes privacy more than most cloud AI providers. This is a significant improvement over not being able to use these models at all due to the lack of specialized hardware (for example, LLaMA-3.1-405b requires a staggering >200GB of video RAM).
How do I pay?
I accept Bitcoin (both on-chain and Lightning, be sure to change it in the checkout) and Monero.
Why do you need my name and address?
I don’t – be creative. I am legally forced to ask for it (for invoicing purposes), as I am running a legal business, but I don’t care about your real name or address.
You can also get the account by writing me through my contact form, mention the form of payment you prefer.
